Due to global warming and climate change marine life, such as corals, polar bears, seals, and penguins, are living under stress due to altered lifestyles and acidic oceans. Temperature is a crucial factor in reproduction and the number of offspring, and acidic oceans are making it harder for animals to breathe underwater. All of these factors are threatening the marine animal population and even leading to extinction. This trend is expected to worsen as the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change predicts a further rise of between 1.4°C and 5.8°C by the end of the century. What should the international community do to help these animals? What can our society do to make a difference?
